
#10 'Van Deman' Quince
This is one of two quinces still on the
market, the other being the 'Pineapple'
Quince. Both are Burbank hybrids. The
'Van Deman' is edible after it has
become quite ripe and only if cooked.
Dr. Van Deman, a friend of Burbank,
was a botanist with the U.S.D.A.
