Maud Ballard as played by Sara Doherty recalls hearing of the engagement of
her friends Sam Talmadge and Regina Clark. Maud was Regina’s companion as
she suffered from ill health in the last year’s of her life. Maud married
Sam shortly after Regina’s death.
